Anthony Bourdain Found Dead At Age 61


Anthony Bourdain has died. The colorful chef-turned-TV personality was found dead on 06/08/2018. The apparent cause of death was suicide by self-imposed hanging.

“It is with extraordinary sadness we can confirm the death of our friend and colleague, Anthony Bourdain,” said CNN in a statement released today. “His love of great adventure, new friends, fine food and drink and the remarkable stories of the world made him a unique storyteller. His talents never ceased to amaze us and we will miss him very much. Our thoughts and prayers are with his daughter and family at this incredibly difficult time,” they continued.

CNN’s president Jeff Zucker released the following in an email to the networks employees: “Tony will be greatly missed not only for his work but also for the passion with which he did it.”

Anthony Michael Bourdain was an American chef, author, and television personality. He was noted by popular sources as one of the most influential chefs in the world.

Though best known for his culinary achievements and television presentations, along with several books on food and cooking and travel adventures, Bourdain’s lesser-known writings include both fiction and historical nonfiction.
